PPE ASSESSMENT

When PPE is to be used, a PPE program should be implemented. This program should address the hazards present; the selection, maintenance, and use of PPE; the training of employees; and monitoring of the program to ensure its ongoing effectiveness. Pointman Professionals will do an initial review of your OSHA PPE hazard assessment documents for compliance and most importantly to be effective in protection workers.

Assessment highlights:

Ensure compliance with OSHA 1926.95 -Personal Protective and Life Saving Equipment
Analyze the data so that it may be efficiently used in determining the proper types of PPE required at the worksite
Select PPE that will provide a level of protection greater than the minimum required to protect employees from hazards

Construction companies with more than 10 employees are required to keep a record of serious work-related injuries and illnesses.

29 CFR 1904 has expanded to require electronic submission of records to OSHA each year and severe injury reporting within 24 hours of incident. We see first hand how OSHA 300 logs are evaluated in the bidding process to award work. Inaccurate records alone can cost you the job.

HAZARD ANALYSIS

A defined process to review existing and new work tasks. Main objective is to identify hazards and controls to minimize employee injury for individuals and specific work tasks. OSHA standards require employers to conduct hazard/PPE (personal protective equipment) assessments which must be documented.
